There were so many ups and downs, great moments both on offense and defense, but at the end, it’s the Vukovi team who will, once again, play in the finals, second time in as many years of IFAF Europe Champions League.

But, that wasn’t an easy task, despite they were hosts in their own town. It was very warm day, with temperature hitting 36 degrees, and as match has been played in the afternoon, it’s quite of a miracle as both rivals give so much to fulfill their dream. At the end, Vukovi are still dreaming their own.

They’ve took first blood when QB Myles Gates ran for 10-yard-touchdown, but Blitz responded great – both then, and after Mihailo Josović, Vukovi’s RB and eventual MVP, scored after 32-yard-touchdown. First, Joe Thompson passed 13 yards to Andre Cropper, and then, at the start of the second quarter, Temi Oduyemi’s 10-yard scamper leveled it at 14-14.

Then, great defenses stepped up, and it was pure joy of all-around football, despite there was no score until the very last moments of the first half. And, when everyone at the FK Vozdovac stadium in Belgrade, which is on the roof of shopping mall, thought it will be it, Vukovi bit again: Gates was at Belgrade’s team 32 yard line, and connected with Tony Washington, who prevented two London’s defenders from interception, caught the ball, and turned them both for 68-yard-touchdown, and the best moment of the game.

But, London Blitz is not an ordinary team. That’s the team of true fighters, who fought their way once again, despite that shock, and despite Josovic scored twice in 3rd quarter, on 4-yard-run and 15-yard-pass from Myles Gates. Yet, after deficit, London decided once again not to quit.

Sam Joseph intercepted Gates and returned it 15 yards for the first Blitz’s touchdown in 4th quarter, and then Josh Adamson 8-yard-run closed the gap to 28:35.

London had chance in the closing minute to equalize, but Marko Bates intercepted Adamson’s pass, which ended the dream of London Blitz, but straightened Vukovi’s, as they’ve reached finals.

With Josovic as MVP of the first semi-finals, SBB Vukovi will play on Sunday (14 GMT, 16 local time) against the winner of the second match, Carlstad Crusaders v Thonon Black Panthers.
